The first thing you need to know is that all ideas are true.
The second thing you need to know is that every idea in the world is wrong.

At a party at the end of the seventies, Karen, a popular young student, slips into a coma. While her friends grow up, get jobs, fall in and out of love, only Richard is left waiting for her. And when, eighteen years later, she does awake, the world is a very different place and, more strangely, Karen has a message for the world. It’s about to end. And it does.

This is the first adaptation of Coupland’s work for radio and was directed by Polly Thomas for the Drama on 3 slot on Sunday night Radio 3. It starred Florian Hutter, Rayisa Kondracki, Maggie Blake, Jason Durran, Simon Lee Philips, Heather Dann, Peter Marinker, Julia Summer, and Buffy David. Music was composed by Alice Trueman. Sound design was by Steve Brooke.

The play was repeated, also on Radio 3, in May 2010.
